What does A podiatrist do?
General Foot Care
Routine treatment for issues such as thickened nails, calluses, corns, cracked heels, and ingrown toenails. Ideal for patients with diabetes, arthritis, or mobility issues.
Diabetic Foot Assessments
Comprehensive foot checks to assess circulation, sensation, skin integrity, and risk of complications. Includes education and preventative care to reduce risks of ulcers or amputations.
Biomechanical Assessments
Evaluation of foot, ankle, knee, and lower limb alignment and function to identify abnormalities or inefficiencies in movement. Often used to diagnose causes of foot, leg, or back pain.
Custom Orthotics
Prescription of custom-made insoles to support, align, or improve foot function. Used to treat flat feet, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, and gait abnormalities.
Nail Surgery
Minor surgical procedures, often under local anaesthetic, to permanently treat recurring or severely ingrown toenails.
